Hiking in the Montseny Natural Park

Located just one hour from Barcelona, Montseny Natural Park is a jewel of biodiversity and landscape in Catalonia, offering an ideal refuge for nature and adventure lovers. Recommended routes

Route of the Waters

The Ruta de les Aigües is ideal for those looking for a pleasant and not too demanding excursion. With a length of approximately 10 km, this circular route offers spectacular landscapes of forests and streams that run through the park. The difficulty is low, making it accessible to families and hikers of all ages. Points of interest include Salt de Sallent, an impressive waterfall, and several natural water sources. Spring and autumn are the best times to do this route, when the climate is milder and the landscape is at its best.

El Turó de l’Home

For the more adventurous, the ascent to Turó de l’Home, Montseny’s highest peak at 1,706 meters, represents an exciting challenge. This route of medium-high difficulty extends for about 16 km round trip from the Fontmartina car park. Hikers will be rewarded with panoramic views of the region and on clear days, you can even see the sea. The route crosses several types of vegetation, from dense forests to more open and rocky areas, offering great biodiversity.

The Matagalls Route

If you are looking for a full-day adventure with medium-high difficulty, the Ruta de Matagalls is an excellent option. This route is approximately 15 km long and starts at Coll de Bordoriol, offering a challenging ascent to the top of Matagalls, one of the three highest peaks of Montseny. Along the way, hikers can enjoy lush forests, open meadows, and breathtaking views of the park and surrounding mountains. The route can be completed in approximately 5 to 7 hours, depending on the walking pace.

Càmping Les Illes

In the heart of the Montseny natural park, in a small valley between the Matagalls and Les Agudes peaks, is the Les Illes campsite and farmhouse. A simple and welcoming space with a lot of history, where you can fully experience nature, enjoy the freshness of the Tordera River and relax in the tranquillity offered by the forest, an environment that changes with every season of the year.

Can Cervera

Can Cervera is a mountain campsite where you can practice traditional camping in large grass fields or forest areas. It is a quiet, simple and family place where you can enjoy your holidays or weekend getaways surrounded by paths and woods, a stream, sheep and other farm animals.

The campsite is located at an altitude of 700 m in a privileged environment. Its customers are completely immersed in a rural environment and far enough from the nearest road for the little ones to play in complete safety. Ideal for hiking from where you can start different routes, excursions or walks in the area.
