TEMPLO EXPIATORIO

The highlight is undoubtedly the facade, considered one of the most spectacular and brightest in the world; It combines stone, wrought iron and polychrome ceramics. The central part of the building, polychrome pottery, insinuates the surface of a lake with water lilies gentle undulations and reflections from the glass and ceramics trencadís.

The top of the building recalls the arched back of a dragon or a chameleon where ceramic tiles simulate the scales. His left side tilted up in its top floors, creating an asymmetry respect, much more escairado right side. You seem to be that Gaudí wanted it that way express to respect the appearance of the Amatller House (next to him), which ends in a triangular shape.

Under this special roof, a very special loft, large like those built in the Bellesguard House is housed. Gaudí perfected this technique in this building, which also will serve in the Pedrera, with spectacular results. The roof has a tower.
