INFORMATION

El Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona fue diseñado por el arquitecto norte-americano Richard Meier. Está concebido como un edificio de trazos longitudinales de 120 x 35 m de base, en el cual se inscrive una pieza de base circular que traviesa verticalmente las cuatro plantas, y a partir de la cual se articulan las distintas zonas de la exposición.

The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art was designed by the North American architect Richard Meier . It is designed as a longitudinal strokes building of 120 x 35 m of base.

COLLECTIONS

Work of Joan Miró

The collection of the Joan Miró Foundation includes more than 14,000 pieces : 217 paintings, 178 sculptures, 9 textiles, 4 ceramics , the almost complete graphic works and some 8,000 drawings.

Work of other artists

In addition to the works of Joan Miró, the Foundation also has a small collection of contemporary art , founded in homage to Miró one year after his death. It is integrated by donations and long-term loans of paintings , sculptures, photographs and objects of renowned artists .
